Money Moves
August 15, 2019
I wanted to share my latest endeavors with everyone. I have quite a bit of exciting things going on and this next year is going to be extremely busy but with a lot of successes to show for the hard work.
First, I am officially in the last year of school until I FINALLY obtain my Bachelor's Degree. Not only I will finally be graduating at the end of the year, my mini me will be graduating from eighth grade as well! Double graduation parties, woot! It has been a long time coming guys, I have been in school for the last 6 years and I am definitely ready to be done with school. This last year is going to be tougher than the past because I am going from two classes per quarter to three classes per quarter to graduate on time. Even though I am burnt out, I still plan to finish strong in my last year. One of my goals is to finish with honors. I already get pretty good grades but I love challenging myself to do the best I can do.
Second, I recently decided to go for my Real Estate License. I most likely will do this once I am done with school or whenever I get some more down time from classes seeing that I have a much heavier workload this last year. Let me give you a little more background on how I came to this decision. My grandfather passed away in April 2019 and he and my grandmother had land in Texas. My grandmother knows I knowledgeable in Real Estate so she asked me to help her sell her lot in Texas.
I made the right calls and found an awesome realtor who helped me sell her land and we sold it giving my grandmother almost $35k in profit off the lot they bought several years ago. My grandmother thanked me a million times and asked me how much she can pay me for my help. I honestly did not help her to get anything in return. I didn't want to see her taken advantage of and I gladly helped because its something I enjoy doing. Even though I declined money, she ended up giving me some anyway and told me she was so proud of me and that I have a talent and that I should use the money to pursue something I want to do with my life.
It didn't occur to me until I spoke with my boyfriend one day and I was telling him about the money she gave me. He told me I should get my Real Estate license and I was like eh I don't know. He then said, "how much work did you put into that deal?" I said, "I got on phone calls when I needed to, sent some emails and text messages, and signed some paperwork." "Exactly!" He said. "You made money with barely putting in any time" and boom. Just like that, I was like wow he is so right. I decided to do this because I honestly find Real Estate fascinating. I enjoy purchasing Real Estate and I honestly think I am pretty good at it so why not! My plan is to have several streams of income coming in from different places, Real Estate being on of them.
Third, I will be moving in less than two weeks! Back to the North side of Chicago we go! WOO HOO!!! I am a Northsider all day everyday! I miss it and am ready to depart the South Side stat! Unfortunately, my daughter was bullied constantly at her new school and I didn't want her spending her last year of middle school miserable so I decided to move us back and let her finish her schooling in peace with the kids she grew up with. I am super excited for this move because I will once again be closer to all my family and friends.
Fourth, I am currently in the house hunting process for my fourth property. This time, I will be purchasing my first two flat or multifamily home! I am super excited because I have always wanted a two flat and its honestly like a dream come true. I never really thought I would get there so fast but I am so happy I have very knowledgeable people helping me through this process, I call them my Money Moves team :).
Fifth, I am looking into another business endeavor doing Air B and B Arbitrage. I am currently in the research phase still but definitely going to take advantage of this booming short term rental industry. I will definitely be sharing more with everyone once I get this off the ground and figure everything out.
Sixth, I will be throwing my 3rd Women's Empowerment Night with a friend of mine on October 12, 2019. I am super excited about this one because we have an awesome venue and some really great women speakers who have their own businesses and have been very successful doing so. We also are trying to put together swag bags (hopefully) and are looking for sponsors, and women owned businesses who want to showcase their products or services at the event. I am holding this event with a friend of mine who has some amazingly awesome ideas and together, we will have a very successful event. I would like everyone to know, anyone is invited to come to these empowerment events. If I do not know you to personally send you an invite, please feel free to message me for more details. I would love to see as many women there as possible. We have a great lineup and a great event in the works!
As you can see, a lot of exciting stuff going on and a lot to look forward to in the next year! I can't stress enough at how excited I am to see everything all come together. Please message me for more information on anything you read here today, I am more than glad to assist or answer any questions.
